Facilities – Samudra Public School

Samudra Public school is a blend of good infrastructure, quality ambiance and modern amenities that facilitates the teaching-learning process. The plentiful resources available in the campus supports 21st century teaching-learning goals and methodologies.

Classrooms

Classroom furniture are suitable for independent as well as group work. All students have a personal space in the classroom to keep their belongings. The limited students in each class help teachers to give individual attention to the learning needs.

Library and Information Centers

The school has two Library-cum-Reading Rooms, with a wide selection of reading materials, reference books and manuals for students as well as teachers. A large collection of videos and other digital resources classified and cataloged for different age-groups and subject areas is an addendum to the treasure of knowledge in the print format. Children are encouraged to subscribe to books of their choice from Primary level itself.

Laboratories

Laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics have advanced digital equipment. The digital microscope is the special feature of the Biology Lab. This microscope can be connected to computer system through cable interface. All-in-one, touch enabled computers are connected to these digital microscopes. Students can view the objects from view finder or watch them on the computer screen. As these are touchscreen computers, students can directly zoom in to get the desired information about the object on screen.

Resource Room

The school helps students, who need strengthening of concepts, by offering revision and practice work during the school days and weekends to cope with the grade level requirements and eventually become self-reliant. The school thoroughly discourages students from going for tuitions.

The school also identifies and provides remedial support to the students with special learning needs through its Resource Room that is equipped with learning materials and manipulatives. A special educator is available to monitor and help the remediation programme.

Awareness and sensitisation programme for parents and teachers are held at frequent intervals to support the students in inclusive classrooms and at home.

Information Technology Labs

The two Information Technology labs are equipped with 80 latest, all-in-one, touch screen computer systems. These computers are equipped with the latest Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 Operating System. They can run any kind of complex program such as, animation software, web designing software, programming language, 3D software, etc.

The computers have unlimited internet connectivity and are inter-connected through a network, which allows for easy access of projects and programmes created during the practical sessions to showcase in classes.

All computers are secured with firewall. This ensures secured browsing of websites and restriction of unwanted sites in school.

Indoor and Outdoor Activities

As the saying goes, ‘A healthy mind in a healthy body’, we believe in giving our students enough opportunities to play and participate in sporting events. They play throwball, basketball, cricket, badminton, table tennis and track & field sports also for an all-round development. They are encouraged and prepared to participate in interschool sports events in and around Mysuru.

Music and Dance Rooms

There is music in our hearts and rhythm in our bodies. This allows children to actively take to music or dance and use it to enhance their learning. This also gives them an opportunity to identify their own abilities and nurture them as an interesting leisure activity.

Art and Craft Rooms

The students love to spend time in the Art and Craft rooms. They use their nimble fingers to bring pictures to life and make various objects with different material, whether it is origami or other items like paper flowers, pen holders, greeting cards, bookmarks, etc.

School Transport

The school currently has a fleet of school buses, owned and operated independently by the school. School transport facility is available to most parts of Mysuru.

Every bus has an attender who accompanies the children during the trips to and from school.
Every bus is fitted with a GPS device and CCTV, as per the government guidelines.
Parents receive an SMS alert every time the bus leaves the school for pickup or drop of the children.
